LONDON LASER HAIR REMOVAL PROCEDURES
Our most popular treatment for both men and women is laser hair removal; to get the best results for your hair and skin type combination, we only use the most recent laser technology. We can customise the treatment to meet your needs because we offer two different laser systems!
Since many of us have different skin tones and hair types throughout our bodies, we have given our practitioners the best training possible to enable them to choose the settings that will work best for you. In contrast to other UK clinics, we regularly review treatment plans to ensure that, even as your hair changes colour and density, the parameters are still appropriate.
Our expertise is extensive, having treated over 200,000 patients in London alone. Many of our clients come from throughout Europe to receive laser hair removal treatments from us.
THE OPERATION OF LASER HAIR REMOVAL
By focusing on the melanin (colour) in the hair and destroying it, an intense light beam is used in laser hair removal to destroy individual hair follicles, thereby cutting off the root and blood supply to the hair at the base of the hair follicle.
At each session, hair in the anaphase of the hair growth cycle—roughly 10% of your hair—will be permanently destroyed! This is because, at the time of treatment, it is attached to the root. Rest assured, the remaining hair will continue to be damaged and shed in two weeks, leaving you without hair in between treatments! There will be fewer ingrown hairs because the damaged hair that regrowth produces will be lighter and finer than before.
To enhance your comfort level, our cutting-edge cooling system, which is connected to the laser, circulates cold air throughout the procedure. After your treatment, you might experience some minor redness and bumps for a few hours. You can continue applying the cooling aloe vera gel that you will be given at home.
CONSULTATION FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL
We offer a free consultation with one of our knowledgeable and skilled consultants prior to beginning your laser hair removal journey. The consultant will select the laser to be used and go over the procedure with you during the consultation. They will address any queries or worries you may have and test the proper settings in each area. They will also modify your treatment plan according to your specific needs and assist you in choosing the ideal start date for your journey based on any tan you may already have or any upcoming holidays that your consultant may need to accommodate.
A skin test will determine your eligibility for laser hair removal (approximately 95% of people) and provide you with an impression of how the procedure will feel. The laser consultant will then counsel you on the most effective treatment plan to help you reach your objective. If you've never had laser hair removal before, we usually advise 8 sessions.
Initially, the body sessions will occur every 6–8 weeks, and the face sessions every 3–4 weeks. Fortunately, tanning will become less of a problem as your treatments become more irregular once you reach maintenance sessions! Numerous topics addressed in the consultation are addressed in our FAQs section below. If you decide to proceed with the treatment after the consultation, you can begin it as soon as 48 hours later!
AFTER UNDERGOING LASER HAIR REMOVAL…
After the treatment, the skin may be red right away, and the hair follicles where the skin has been treated may be raised and bumpy. These side effects usually go away in a few hours, but for some clients, they may take up to 48 hours. Few people itch a few days after the hair pushes out; this can be easily relieved with steroid cream and antihistamines, as well as by keeping the skin cool.
After a laser hair removal procedure, there is a noticeable slowdown in hair growth. Usually, it takes two to three weeks for the dead hair to fall out. Let your hair down until right before your upcoming visit! The follicles that grow back will then be finer and easier to manage.
Depending on the type of skin and hair, the area may look patchy after the second laser treatment as some hair follicles become empty. Results may differ from person to person. On coarse hair, we can achieve up to 80% reduction after eight sessions; the hair should be significantly reduced after four to six treatments.
PRINCIPAL ADVANTAGES OF LASER HAIR REMOVAL
For a permanent reduction, laser hair removal is the most effective method. You can attain an 80% reduction after 6–8 sessions. When weighed against a lifetime of shaving or waxing, laser hair removal is more cost-effective in the long run.
Ingrown hairs can also be effectively treated with a laser. You should notice a noticeable, if not total, reduction of ingrown hairs after two to four sessions. The skin will become clearer, brighter, and smoother as the ingrown hair-related bumps, redness, and pigmentation go away.
PRACTITIONERS OF LASER HAIR REMOVAL AND SAFETY
Each practitioner at Facial Clinic Chelsea has received level 4 laser safety training certification and has a wealth of experience. Numerous of our medical professionals have been treating patients of all skin types for more than ten years. Before beginning treatment in any area, a skin test is always performed to make sure your skin is suitable. Our technicians are all female, have seen a lot of patients over the years, and are aware of the sensitivity some patients may have to certain body parts. But thanks to their extensive training, all of our technicians will make sure you have the most comfortable treatment possible!
LASER TREATMENTS FAQs
With the suggested course of 6–8 treatments, most clients will experience an 80% reduction in hair, with top-up treatments as needed.
Our suggested permanent hair reduction technique is laser hair removal. Ingrown hair prevention, minimal side effects, and long-term results are just a few of its many advantages.
Yes, removing pubic hair safely and effectively can be achieved with laser hair removal. Permanent hair reduction is one of the benefits that make it a popular procedure for sensitive areas like the genitalia. Individual experiences might differ, though, so it's crucial to speak with our knowledgeable experts to make sure everything is safe and appropriate for your needs.
The length of the sessions varies depending on the area of the body you want to treat. For instance, ten minutes can be spent on the underarms, twenty minutes on the half arms or lower legs, forty-five minutes on the entire back and shoulders, and two hours on the entire body.
This is contingent upon the patient's type of hair growth. A client may see 10% to 20% hair reduction in the first session if their hair growth is normal; however, those with PCOS hirsutism may see less reduction. Most patients see an 80% hair reduction after a full course of laser hair removal treatments, and occasionally even more.
With an 80% reduction in hair, laser hair removal is thought to be a permanent solution. Over time, the hair will grow back, but it will do so thinner and with less volume than before. Touch-ups are typically performed one to four times a year, depending on the needs and skin type of each individual.
Up to 80% of your hair growth can typically be reduced in 6–8 sessions, though this will mostly depend on the area. For example, the face needs 16–30 sessions and sometimes more, but the lower legs only need 8 sessions. To complete each area, top-up sessions are required.
